Three US hubs

Which hub fits jeans and denim

Denim is one of the most specialised products we place: the sewing line, the wash and the fit development all need to be right, so the hub matters more than usual.

Product, fabric, quantity and timing decide the factory first; the hub follows from that. You get the factory’s name and direct contact, and you can visit before you sign off a sample.

What US-made jeans cost

A US-made jean costs more at the factory than an imported one, with no ocean freight, customs or import duty on top. Here is what the calculator estimates today for a standard 5-pocket, before special washes.

What “full package” means

The factory buys the fabric, cuts, sews and adds standard trims, and quotes one price per piece at its door. Decoration, premium fabric, a complex build and shipping move the number; the cost calculator shows by how much. Selvedge or custom denim, heavy distressing and custom hardware move you toward the top of each range.

Timeline · Denim

From brief to delivery in 8–12 weeks

These timings apply to every product we place. For denim, the wash is the usual swing factor: approve the wash standard during sampling so bulk doesn’t wait on it.

  1. Day 1

    Send the brief

Product, quantity, fabric, target cost and date. We reply within 24 hours and quote our fee in writing before any work starts.

  2. 3–5 working days

Tech pack, if you need one

Optional. $79 per style with 2–3 revision rounds. Skip it if your tech pack is ready.

  3. 2–4 weeks

    Sampling

A fit sample in your denim, then a wash sample. Approve fit, shrinkage after wash and the wash standard before bulk.

  4. 4–6 weeks

    Bulk production

Cutting, sewing, washing and finishing after sample sign-off. We check the label wording before the first bulk run.

  5. 1–5 days

    Ground shipping

Straight from the factory to your door or warehouse in the lower 48. No port, no customs broker, no import duty.

First order: 8–12 weeks from brief to delivery.

Repeat orders skip sampling. Fabric availability is the usual swing factor, so name your fabric early.

FTC labelling · Denim

What your jeans label can say

“Made in USA” is a legal claim. For textiles the FTC looks one step back from the finished product, so the wording depends on where the denim was woven and where the jeans were cut, sewn and washed.

Denim: the weaving mill decides the wording

Washing, distressing and finishing in the US don’t change where the fabric was made. Ask the factory which mill wove your denim before you print hang tags or write the product page.

Label 01

Denim woven in the US

Denim woven by a US mill, then cut, sewn and washed by US factories. This is the plain “Made in USA” label.

Common mistakeUsing this label on jeans sewn and washed here from denim woven overseas. The wash is local, the fabric is not.

Label 02

Denim woven abroad

Cut, sewn and washed here from denim woven abroad. You may name the country instead: “Made in USA of fabric made in Japan”.

Common mistakeLeaving the qualifier off the product page while the sewn-in label has it. Both need the same origin wording.

Plain-English summary, not legal advice. Source rules: the FTC’s textile labeling guide and Made in USA standard.

100 pieces per style, the same as every other product we place. Put the size split and wash in the brief and we only place you with factories that take that quantity.

The cost calculator currently estimates $34.80–$84.00 per piece at 100–300 units and $29.00–$70.00 at 300–500 units for a standard 5-pocket jean, full package, ex-factory, mid fabric and standard complexity. It’s an estimate: your quote depends on the factory, denim, wash and tech pack.

Yes, if the denim was woven in the US and the jeans were cut and sewn here. If the denim was woven abroad, the label must say “Made in USA of imported fabric” (or name the country). A US wash doesn’t change that. We check the wording before the first bulk run.

Yes. Put a reference photo and the wash in the brief. Some denim factories wash in-house; others use a nearby laundry. You approve a wash standard during sampling, and bulk is washed to match it.

For a first order, 8–12 weeks from brief to delivery: 2–4 weeks of sampling (fit, then wash), 4–6 weeks of bulk production after you approve the sample, then 1–5 days of ground shipping in the lower 48.

Not to send a brief. For denim it helps more than for most products, though: fit, rise, pocket placement and wash all need to be specified. Our tech pack is $79 per style, delivered in 3–5 working days with 2–3 revision rounds.
